a REVOLUTION in RESTORATION

with the NeoGraft System

Traditional hair transplant procedures usually employ a technique known as the “strip method,” which involves surgically removing a strip from the patient’s scalp on the back of the head to be used as the donor site. This old technique is painful, takes a very long time to recover from, and can leave an unsightly linear scar – the known telltale sign that one had a hair transplant. For those and many other reasons, Dr. Digenis opted to go with the revolutionary NeoGraft Hair Restoration System, instead.

a REVOLUTION in RESTORATION

with the NeoGraft System

NeoGraft Hair Restoration is a minimally invasive hair transplantation technique that uses advanced follicular unit extraction (FUE) technology. It automates the process of harvesting and implanting individual hair follicles, resulting in a more precise, efficient, and natural-looking outcome compared to traditional methods. NeoGraft eliminates the need for a linear scar, reduces recovery time, and minimizes discomfort, making it a popular choice for individuals seeking to address hair loss. Its precision and effectiveness make it ideal for restoring hair density with lasting results.

Why choose the NeoGraft System?

The NeoGraft system is often considered better than other traditional methods because of its minimally invasive, automated technology and the absence of a linear scar. Here are key reasons why NeoGraft is preferred by some:

  1. No Linear Scar: NeoGraft uses Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), which involves individually extracting one’s own hair follicles, eliminating the need for a strip of scalp removal, which is common in some other procedures.
  2. Faster Recovery: NeoGraft’s minimally invasive approach results in less downtime, reduced pain, and faster recovery compared to traditional hair transplant methods.
  3. Natural-Looking Results: The precision of the NeoGraft system ensures natural placement of hair follicles, creating a seamless and natural appearance.
  4. Customization: NeoGraft allows for greater customization in follicle placement, enabling patients to achieve tailored results that match their hair growth pattern.

Candidature for Hair Transplantation

An ideal candidate for hair transplantation is someone experiencing significant hair thinning or baldness due to androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss) or other conditions where donor hair is still available. They should have sufficient healthy hair follicles in the donor area (typically the back or sides of the head) to transplant to balding or thinning areas. Candidates should also be in good overall health, have realistic expectations about the results, and understand that the procedure works best for restoring hair density rather than preventing future hair loss. Consulting with Dr. Digenis can help determine suitability and give you an estimate on the number of grafts you will most likely need.

Hair Transplant FAQ

Hair transplant procedures with NeoGraft may be suited for all hair types for both men & women, albeit most women don’t like having to shave a portion of their scalp. There are key factors that will determine if you’re an ideal candidate: degree of hair loss, number of grafts necessary to produce the desired results, density and quality of one’s own hair.  Dr. Digenis will assist you and advise you on your eligibility and other possible options at a consultation. The duration of the procedure depends on the number of grafts. Extraction and implantation of the average number of 2,000 grafts takes about 6 hours.

Recovery time after a NeoGraft hair transplant is much faster than traditional hair transplants because there is no incision involved. The newly implanted grafts may feel tender and appear slightly raised at first, but this should subside in one week. You may also see some scabbing, but this should also flake off within 1-2 weeks. Dr. Digenis will instruct you on how to properly care for your new grafts, but most patients are able to return to their usual routine within two weeks after the procedure.

The cost of the procedure depends on the number of grafts you would need to address your specific hair loss concern and the cost of the transplanters. During the consultation with Dr. Digenis, he will advise you on the number and cost of grafts to assist you in estimating the total cost of the procedure.

After a hair transplant, the newly transplanted hair becomes dormant for 3-4 months.  This phase in hair growth is called telogen. After 9-12 months when the transplanted hair proceeds to the anagen or growth phase, you will see the full effect of the hair transplant.

Yes! One of the key benefits of the NeoGraft FUE technique is that the donor hairs are harvested in what are called “follicular units.” These are the units that hair naturally grows in, and therefore, once they are transplanted, they will look completely natural.
