Perioral laser skin resurfacing was performed on this 71-year-old woman, targeting the skin around the mouth and chin. This zone is one of the more technically demanding areas to treat with laser because the skin is thin and the treatment boundary needs to be planned to avoid a visible line of demarcation between treated and untreated skin. The after photo is taken at six months post-treatment, a point at which the skin has completed the bulk of its healing and remodeling. You can see the perioral and chin skin in the after photo is smoother in texture compared to the before, with the fine surface lines across that zone visibly reduced. Results vary from patient to patient.
